A guided tour of some of the island's coastline with our marine biologist, educating on the need for mangrove, seagrass and coral reef restoration. On this trip we'll note some important local species in each environment and challenge guests to see how many of each species they can spot in their dedicated snorkel time underwater.
First 15 minutes:
Introduction to the Reef Gardeners team, health and safety protocols.
Next 30 minutes:
Set out to mangrove trail, learn about our restoration initiatives, how we carry them out and why.
Next 30 minutes:
Education on what mangroves are, why they are special plants, what local species depend on them and answer questions.
Last 15 minutes:
Recap and return to disembarkation point, then be awarded “Mangrove Explorer”certificates.
